Stone carving of Confucius visiting Laozi from Wu Family Temple in Jiaxiang county, Shandong province

Huang Yi from Qiantang found it in a tomb in Wu Family Temple in Jiaxiang county, Shandong province, in the winter of 1786, the 51st year during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty (1636-1912). It shows Confucius (L) visiting another great thinker Laozi, with a pheasant in his hands as a gift. There are two disciples, including Yan Hui, and carriages behind Confucius, and several people holding bamboo tubes in their hands behind Laozi. As for the kid in front of Confucius, some say it is the child prodigy Xiang Tuo, some say it is a kid who asked Confucius about the sun, and some say that the artist put it there as a filler.
